Shear Genius - Clipping an Angel's wings

I honestly can't see how things could have gone as wrong as they did last night in the Shear Genius Charlie's Angels Challenge.... but unfortunately my friends they did.

Things start off great, we have the shortcut challenge and Charlie wins (much to Dee's dismay) and he gets to choose the teams for the next Challenge. As we all know, it's the Charlie's Angels Challenge complete with Rene doing his European version of Charlie and chatting with the stylists by intercom. The Challenge goes on with not too much drama, but you can tell that things are not as rosy as they should be.
We finally get the chance to see Kate Jackson (still looking great, and once she relaxed she was quite interesting) and Jaclyn Smith reunite, and all of our teams of stylists present their modern take on the 3 iconic hair styles of the original Angels.

Now... that sounds like a great, fun and interesting challenge .... but unfortunately the result was terrible and none of the stylists won. Not a single one .... and that is a very sad state of affairs when you have one of the icons in front of you everyday during the competition and you can't do a decent adaptation of her hair style? It's just a sad, sad state of affairs.....

All I can really say is that I was very disappointed with the results and it was too bad that Charlie wasn't a participant (he had this weird exemption from winning the Short Cut Challenge) and even our big gay boys Daniel and Paulo couldn't do much. It was just a big mess left and right. Jaclyn and the judges made sure that they made a point of saying how disappointed they were (and rightfully so) before cutting Glenn. Remarkably, Nekisa was in the bottom 2 again yet still lives to style another day -- that will certainly give Charlie more ammo for some upcoming bitch sessions. Now if I can just get this bad taste out of my mouth all will be better...

The Andromeda Strain -- or the Strain of watching this crap

I am almost convinced that anything that Rick Schroder is in is now doomed to be a piece of crap. His track record has been falling short recently... anything from his last performance in 24 (that bad season before the strike that made me happy we skipped a season), the TERRIBLE film that came out awhile ago (Journey to the Centre of the Earth) and now this remake of a great film.

Seriously, these remakes have to stop -- there is no reason in remaking the classics if the writers are destroying the original story. I `d really like to know if the film or script was approved by Crichton -- I am pretty sure that he will not be happy with how things turned out.

I think the thing that surprises me the most, is that it started off well and was pretty much on the money for the first part of the series, it was really last night that it went way off into left field and I honestly had no idea what the frack they were doing with the story. Not even the subtle `coming out` of the Major Bill Keane character (`Don`t ask - Don`t tell`) was not enough of a modernization to make it interesting, nor was it even necessary. Some things are better left off as they were -- I am completely and utterly disappointed with this whole debacle.

Knight Rider - Oh No! Not another remake!

I think that if I hear the words "remake" and "NBC" in the same sentence I am going to run and hide.

After the complete disaster that they called Bionic Woman, the Peacock network has the gall to "re-imagine" the Knight Rider series (which was okay the first time around but nothing that spectacular) and churn out a 2 hour movie that had me bored senseless. NBC, I would like those 2 hours of my life back please and no more crap like this. DO NOT make a series out of this.
Seriously, you will just be wasting my time (and yours) and that's enough said.

Journey to the Center of the Earth - What were they thinking?

OK ION network-- I wasted 2 hours of my TV time last night watching this piece of crap that you called "an adaptation of the Jule's Verne classic".


I call it a piece of regurgitated phlegm that I can barely dignify with a classification. The sad part is that I saw the ads for it and thought " Great, an adaptation of a classic story with some decent actors."


Just shoot me, now.


Bad (oh so bad) adaptation of the story.... It's all Americanized, the characters are wooden, the pacing is terrible, it's just a big mess. Victoria Pratt proves once more why she has such a crappy career, she keeps picking bad roles that no decent actress would ever dare take. She probably saw that Rick Shroder and Peter Fonda were in it and it was supposed to be decent.


Yikes! All I know is that if I see the words RHI Weekend Movie again I am changing the channel as fast as I can-- no one deserves this kind of treatment.
